Reward and Inspire
If your team worked hard and achieved well, you may want to acknowledge their effort and show your appreciation by doing something exceptional for them. Or you may want to do something to inspire and pull your team together after a particularly rough time at the office or in your organisation. |

|
Treat your team…
- Give them a break away from the office in beautiful natural surroundings
- Spoil them with hands-on pampering for tense necks and shoulders
- Experience stress release for everyday use through practical introduction to ways to quieten the mind and rest the body
- Offer them food for the soul through inspirational and thought-provoking reflection sessions
- Feed their senses with delicious and beautiful food - this could even include The Chocolate Cake Meditation…
- Create time and space for a day of laughter, fun and relaxation

Remember and Reflect
A Team Building Retreat offers participants the opportunity to step back from everyday business to reflect on their lives as a whole:
 |
- Remembering one's reasons for working so hard brings fresh perspective and insight
- Considering what difference one is making and still wants to make, fuels passion and inspiration
- Reflecting on the importance of nurturing oneself and one's personal relationships encourages more balance and wholeness. In the long run it is the people who are balanced, whole and well who are the best people to have in the office…

Recharge
Apart from stepping back to indulge in resting and being pampered, participants are exposed to fresh, useful ideas to assist them in becoming more aware and whole in their work and personal lives. More than 98% of our participants to date reported leaving the day with more energy than when they arrived! |

How to arrange a Team Building Retreat for your team:
Each Team Building Retreat is customised for the lucky team. The facilitator (Antoinette Ehmke) meets with the team leader and other people whose input are important to obtain a thorough understanding of the team's history, function and current dynamics. The team leadership chooses the most relevant components from the repertoire of activities and topics that Antoinette suggests after the initial meeting, to suit their time and budget availability. Examples of options include
- Length of the retreat: Half day, One day or Two-day (sleep-over)
- Size of the group: minimum of 8 people, maximum of 25.
- Venue – we look for and choose a venue that is within a comfortable traveling radius for the participants, and which offers beautiful natural surroundings, privacy, stylish facilities and superior catering
- Pampering: Depending on how much time and money we choose to allocate, we contract with on-site or mobile therapists for treatments like head and shoulder massages, hand and foot treatments or other sensory treats.
- Quietening the mind and resting the body: choices are between various relaxation or meditation techniques and include a short presentation on the importance of turning OFF the body's fight-or-flight physiology on a regular basis. "The Chocolate Cake Meditation" is a specially recommended introduction to mindfulness meditation.
- Introspection: Choose from thoughtfully designed self-assessments on topics like Permission to Rest, My Energy Profile, What Difference Am I Making?, Goals for a Balanced Life, and others. Participants get the opportunity to spend time by themselves - outside in nature, weather permitting. Answering these questions often lead to important shifts in attitude and direction at work and at home.
- Sharing: Skillful facilitation bring team members together to share some of the content of the individuals' introspection, without turning it into "group therapy"! This kind of sharing promotes a deeper understanding of and respect for one another.
- Personal Growth: The Matrix of the Mind, The Power Zone, Solution Focused Thinking, Deep Listening, Giving and Receiving Feedback, Building Rapport, Essential Coaching Skills and many more. The focus of the Team Building Retreat is not on sitting in lectures all day. If one or more of these topics are selected for the day's programme, care is taken to present it experientially rather than theoretically. We even employ the services of actors to bring complex concepts to life!
- Team Growth: If required, the Team Building Retreat can be partly dedicated to outcomes like
- Getting the team to know each other better
- Strengthening the team's sense of vision and purpose
- Celebrating the team's strengths
- Resolving sensitive issues and dynamics within the team
- Preparing for change.
